Resume

• Updated my Mac to High Sierra. Then installed several items; apache-tomcat-8.5.24, mysql-5.7.20-macos10.12-x86_64, svn - version 1.9.4 (r1740329), Jenkins 2.9.3, Homebrew 1.3.9 (git revision 3ed1), Jdk-9.0.1_osx-x64 (which provides J2EE), and IntelliJ 2017.3.2 IDEA (Java IDE).
• Created an SVN repository and added some files to it. Created some simple Java programs and ran them via command line. I have added sub-dirs into my personal SVN repo for bash, bourne, Java-script, Perl, Python and Ruby. I plan to add test apps or other scripts to the appropriate sub-locations within that SVN repository as they grow into something of value.
• Part of my plan going forward is to eventually install git locally or access a git repo via AWS and capture scripts and apps into that git repository as well as SVN.

• In the process of installing and using various tools, I’ve needed to or decided to create user accounts for; Oracle, Atlassian (so as to create/access Jira projects, I had a corporate atlassian account in the past, but now need a personal login), and AWS, Amazon Web Services.
• Needed to spend some time with financial activities, which has prompted me to be reading up on tax law and tax preparation. This has been enlightening, but competes for time with the other activities mentioned above.

• Created, tested, and delivered StorNext software using Subversion, Jenkins tool, CGI/Perl scripting and other tools to build and validate Limited Customer Release builds of the StorNext product suite. This was done on Linux as well as Windows host platforms
• Tested the StorNext product, including defect correction validations, using Perl, Python, Ruby, bash and Bourne Shell scripts to exercise the StorNext software suite.
• Testing often involved setup of Windows and Unix environments, such as setup of Working directory on windows, file permissions on windows and Linux hosts and networking environments with NFS and Samba mounts.
• Created test plans and customer facing documentation, as well as other internal product documentation; including Wiki pages.

• Designed and developed software in C for Storage Area Network device discovery.
• Acted as a technical contact between the Veritas Net Backup product developed in Minnesota and Veritas SAN discovery product developed in California.

• Performed QA testing of Zhone telephony IP networking equipment, using Perl scripts.

• Acted as lead software engineer on the design and development from the initial stages of development a SCSI to SCSI and SCSI to Block Device device as both a network extended as well as device protocol translation product, all of which was written in C.
• Lead for the C runtime support for the NCR front-end, which was written in BAL assembly, along with numerous extensions for that runtime support all written C.
• Designed and developed numerous other product capabilities for the NCR front-end processor device. This included; disk and tape drivers, and terminal access utilities.
• Coded and tested the initial release of the IP layer of the NCR front-end processor system’s TCP/Ip implementation. All of which was written in C.
• Lead on the design and develop for the tape driver error recovery, written in 16-bit assembly, for the buffered controller device of a Star-100 host operating system.
